Women Frontline Doctors (WEFOD) is a women-led, not-for-profit National Non-Governmental Organisation (NNGO) based in South Sudan. Founded in 2023, WEFOD is legally registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission under registration number 4733.
WEFOD focuses on the health of women and children, working to improve access to quality healthcare for underserved communities. We also respond to emergency humanitarian needs across the country.
WEFOD is dedicated to implementing health, humanitarian and development programmes that support national efforts to address South Sudan's health, nutrition, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) needs. WEFOD also mainstreams cross-cutting activities such as Gender Based Violence (GBV), mental health and general protection.

Target 1: Reduce the maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births.
Target 2: End preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years — reduce neonatal mortality to at least 12 per 1,000 live births and under-5 mortality to at least 25 per 1,000 live births.
Target 3: Prevent epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases; combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases.
Target 4: Reduce by one-third premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment, and promote mental health and well-being.
Target 5: Strengthen prevention and treatment of substance abuse, including narcotic drug abuse and harmful use of alcohol.
Target 6: Ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including family planning, information and education, and integration of reproductive health into national strategies.
Target 7: Achieve national health coverage including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all.
Target 8: Substantially advocate for increased health financing and the recruitment, development, training and retention of the health workforce, especially at state levels.
Target 9: Strengthen the capacity of all local staff and government staff for early warning, risk reduction and management of local and national health risks.
